This is an antique set of Japanese koto picks with lidded box from the late Meiji era (c. 1900). They are made of bone and leather box is red lacquered with hand painted irises in silver and black. They are of a small size and entirely functional and beautiful at the same time. Each pick is approximately 1 1/2" long box is 3 1/2" by 2 1/4" (9 x 6 cm) . The pick material is of a type impossible to find today and they are in very good condition. The antique lidded box is in good antique condition.
